General House Policies to make your stay as peaceful and pleasant as possible.

Regrettably pets are not allowed
Please No Smoking inside the house. To ensure the comfort and enjoyment of our future guests, we ask everyone to kindly refrain from smoking inside the house. Please feel free to smoke outside under the covered porches.
Single occupancy per room Only. Sorry NO exceptions.
Socializing encouraged, although no loud parties.
30 Day minimum stay, then prorated daily 1/ 30 thereafter to fit your desired stay: Stay 39 days - pay for only 39 days, this is not a month-to-month contract. Stay 31 days , 56 days or 188 days -its up to you ~with advanced reservations we can write a lease that fits your schedule.
We can extend your stay based on future reservations & availability.
Please keep your valuables in your locked private room, we are not responsible for lost or stolen goods.
Please keep common areas clean, dishwasher available in kitchen. It is not our policy to service the room during your stay.
Heating & Air Conditioning: Heat pump system located on each floor with separate floor thermostats.

Common area amenities of the Portland Guesthouse

Kitchen: Fully-equipped spacious kitchen with ample
separate storage space for each individual guest. Dishwasher, Microwave, Coffee Makers, Foreman Grill, Toaster.
Family Room: Relaxing family room with wood fireplace, TV with DVD player, attached t0 a casual dining room and laundry room.
Deck: Outside deck overlooking garden, garage for bicycle storage.
Garage: Room to lock your bike
Complimentary Amenities: Laundry machines, Ironing Board, Iron, Hammock, Blankets
Parking: Two off-street parking spaces available, on a daily first come first serve basis. Ample street parking available.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ's)

Can I see the inside of the house before I reserve a room?
Our guesthouse is a relatively small space where people are living and we do not want a constant flow of people looking over the house while are current guests are trying to enjoy the peaceful environment. We have various pictures, videos, floor plans and room sizes on our website. We can try to make arrangements with the house host to show you the common areas.

Can I switch rooms during my stay?
This is challenging to do since we often do same day turnover and it is hard to corrdinate room availability and reservations with a constant flow of flexible dates for our guests . If a guest plans to stay with us over two months we can try to reserve your desired room.
